Monitoring and evaluation of resettlement process in terms of activity and impact monitoring, revision of resettlement action plan chapters, and Livelihood Restoration Plan, identification of monitoring and evaluation indicators, close out criteria and capacity building of client personnel.

HUMAN-WILDLIFE CONFLICT MANAGEMENT STRATEGY, BOTSWANA
Research on Human-Wildlife Conflict in the Kalahari Landscape, Ghanzi and Kgalagadi Districts, Botswana. Overall Project Manager and Lead Socio-economist. Conduct desktop and field research on HWC in Ghanzi and Kgalagadi Districts, Botswana. Design of socio-economic field survey tools and training for field personnel. Design of an overarching HWC management strategy for the two districts and development of implementation and training plans.

GRI SUSTAINABILITY REPORT FOR LUCARA DIAMONDS, BOTSWANA
Project Manager and Sustainability Consultant. Liaising with Client in country, site visit, data collection and relevant calculations and Sustainability Report writing for Lucara Botswana.

SOCIAL & ENVIRONMENTAL PERMITTING & RISK ASSESSMENT, BOTSWANA
Assisting a copper mining client with permitting requirements and process required for a new mine development in Botswana. In addition, a Risk Assessment workshop to identify key risks to the client’s business, in terms of Environmental and Social issues (community, health & safety and labour). In addition, as Screen exercise was carried out to identify a suitable site for the associated wellfield development for the mine operations.

SOUTHERN AFRICA REGIONAL ENVIRONMENT PROGRAMME (SAREP), MONITORING & EVALUATION, BOTSWANA
Development of socio-economic and agricultural survey tools and related data entry tools to enable monitoring and evaluation of the SAREP project (Chemonics) components to be utilised in Botswana, Namibia and Angola. Support in the development of Monitoring reports to the donor (USAID).

SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT, CEMENT PLANT AND QUARRY, NIGERIA
Leading the social components of the Scoping and ESIA phases of the project. This includes identification of stakeholders, planning of baseline data collection, oversight of local sub-consultant, finalisation of the baseline report and stakeholder engagement plan, and the development of the impact assessment and the management plan.

BIODIVERSITY AND ECOLOGICAL BASELINE, COPPER MINE, BOTSWANA
Overseeing the development of a wet and dry season biodiversity and ecological baseline study to serve as a baseline for the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment. This is to international standards. Biodiversity baseline studies conducted included predator and vulture studies.

INTEGRATED RANGELAND ASSESSMENT, UNDP, BOTSWANA
Leading the social components of the integrated rangeland assessment. Socio-economic baseline and profile development for three geographical areas of Ngamiland, stakeholder engagement through participatory community mapping, key informant interviews and questionnaires, formation of a sustainable multi-stakeholder platform.

DUE DILIGENCE, UNDERGROUND MINE EXPANSION, SOUTH AFRICA
Responsible for the social component of an underground mine expansion project for international financing. Reviewed against the IFC PS and EP. this included the review of labour and working conditions, community relations and development projects, cultural heritage, resettlement, compensation and livelihood restoration.

MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, WIND FARM, KENYA
Social component to review the current project documentation including the ESIA and other project related documents. Development of the Social component of the Environmental and Social Management System.
